As Christmas is the best time of year for enjoying a good whisky, we like to do the season justice here at the Dram Team.
To that end, we’ve released a genuine cracker of a box for our limited festive edition.
A Very Sherry Whiskymas features six special Scotches influenced by maturation in sherry casks:
These whiskies are full of festive flavours: Dried fruits, nutty Christmas cake and…well, sherry!
Selecting these drams is one of the highlights of my year, and I’ve really pushed the boat out for 2019.
Featuring famous Scottish distilleries alongside little-known, single cask bottlings, the set is completed with our super-premium 6th dram at a marvellous 21 years old (and some £130 for a full bottle!).
Full details on the whiskies in the box are below for the connoisseurs amongst you (who might want to check out our Tasting Club options)
And if you’re looking for a Christmas gift, we’ve got you and the whisky lover in your life sorted with all our festive gift options.
Merry Whiskymas one and all!

P.S. I’ve made it really easy to gift our tasting sets this Christmas by offering stylish gift wrap sleeves (free with any gift subscription) and free bespoke gift notes (on a whisky-themed card). Receive it yourself to give on the day, or ship directly (we use plain postal wraps with “Pop me under the tree” stickers so the surprise is safe). Standard shipping is always free.
P.P.S. Or you can treat yourself straight away by joining our Tasting Club (and getting our festive box as your first delivery).
A Look inside: The A Very Sherry Whiskymas Festive Special Edition
BenRiach – Sherry Wood, Aged 12 years
BenRiach’s Sherry Wood really lives up to its name, using not one, not two, but three different means of imparting sherry influence to the whisky: Full sherry cask maturation, combined with Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry cask finishing. And wow, can you tell!
Glenglassaugh – Revival
Sadly, Glenglassaugh distillery was mothballed in 1986, and not expected to ever re-open. However, it defied the odds to recommence production in 2008, and Revival was the first expression released after that 20 year hiatus. Aged in a mix of red wine and bourbon casks, before being vatted and maturing further in sherry casks. Cheers to Revival!
James Eadie – Trade Mark “X”
Featuring one of history’s first trademarks, Trade Mark ‘X’ is faithfully recreated from Eadie’s 1877 original recipe, including spirit from long-closed distilleries. Carefully selected bourbon and sherry casks feature in this remarkable heritage blend, re-born from the first Golden Age of Scotch Whisky.
Douglas Laing – Old Particular, Benrinnes 15 Year Old
Extremely popular with blenders due to its robust, “meaty” spirit character, in part a result of an unusual triple distillation regime, you won’t see many single malt manifestations of Benrinnes. All the more reason to tip our hats to Douglas Laing for this single cask release in their premium “Old Particular” range, which is matured for 15 years exclusively in a sherry butt. A hearty drop indeed.
Clan Denny – Dailuaine 2010, Aged 8 Years
Much like its Diageo-owned stablemate Benrinnes, Dailuaine whisky rarely sees the light of day in single malt form. While distilled twice rather than thrice, it has a similar heavy, “meaty” spirit style. Indie bottlers Douglas McGibbon & Co bottled this 2010 vintage spirit in 2018, after 8 years maturation exclusively in a single sherry butt.
GlenDronach – Parliament, Aged 21 Years
The crowning glory of their core range, this bottle pays tribute to the parliament of rooks “guarding” the GlenDronach warehouses. It is matured for 21 years in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Andalucía in Spain. A highly refined sherry bomb!
